Tony’s Dream Holiday
At Cocklebury Farmhouse Homes, supporting people to live fulfilling lives means helping them turn their ambitions into reality. For Tony, one of those ambitions has always been to travel somewhere warm.
Tony has long been fascinated by the idea of visiting Spain and it’s provences. The sunshine, the beaches and the experience of travelling somewhere new had always captured his imagination. One day, Tony shared this dream with Sarah, the Assistant Manager at Malmesbury Road, telling her that he would love to go on a sunshine holiday in Europe.
Rather than seeing this as just a wish, Sarah saw it as an opportunity to help Tony set meaningful goals and begin planning for the future.
Creating a Plan
Tony and Sarah began by talking about what was important to him.
For Tony, the destination was important as he wanted to go somewhere hot, like Spain. But for Tony, there is one thing even more important… Tony has a fascination with time, dates and the movement of the sun, and he told Sarah he wanted to travel on the longest day of the year, so that he could watch the sunset on the longest day.
With this in mind, Tony and Sarah began mapping out the steps needed to make the holiday happen.
Together, they created a timeline in Tony’s bedroom so he could track his progress visually and see how his goal was getting closer.

Building Skills and Independence
There were several important steps to take.
Tony began budgeting so that he could save money towards his holiday. Sarah helped him to understand the cost of travel which gave him a sense of ownership over the experience.
He also needed a passport which is something he had never had before. With support from Sarah, Tony completed the process and successfully applied for his very first passport, an important milestone in itself.
To plan the details of the trip, Tony and Sarah visited a travel agent together so that Tony could talk about what he wanted from the holiday. This gave Tony the opportunity to explore different destinations and make choices about where he would like to go.
Looking Forward to Holiday Time!
After months of planning and preparation, Tony is now excited to share that his holiday has been booked.
In June 2026, Tony will travel to Lanzarote, a Spanish island known for its warm climate and beautiful coastline. The trip will take place on the longest day of the year, just as Tony had hoped.
Tony will also be taking his first ever flight, supported by two team members he chose himself, Sarah and Angela.
Together, they have designed a holiday that reflects everything Tony wanted: staying close to the beach, enjoying a hotel with a swimming pool, and embracing the experience of a sunny holiday abroad.
Looking Ahead
For Tony, this holiday represents much more than a trip away. It is the result of careful planning, goal-setting and the determination to achieve something that once felt out of reach.
