Learning Disability Week 2026: Seeing the Person, Not the Label
This year's theme, "Do You See Me?", encouraged everyone to think about what it really means to be seen, heard, understood and valued.
Too often, people with a learning disability are defined by their diagnosis rather than their personality, talents, ambitions and relationships. At Cocklebury Farmhouse Homes, we believe every person has their own story, their own strengths and their own aspirations. Learning Disability Week gave us the opportunity to celebrate exactly that.
Green Week 2026: Small Changes Making a Big Difference

Tony’s Holiday to Lanzarote
Just a few months ago, we shared Tony's ambition of travelling for a European holiday for the very first time. After months of planning, saving and preparing, that dream has now become a reality.
In June 2026, Tony travelled to Lanzarote with the staff members of his choosing, Sarah and Angela.
For Tony, this wasn't simply a week away. It was the achievement of a goal he had worked incredibly hard towards and he had the most incredible time away.

Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day
World Down Syndrome Day! Ee took part in the global Lots of Socks campaign. This initiative encourages people to wear bright, colourful and mismatched socks to celebrate difference and raise awareness of Down syndrome. The odd socks symbolise the uniqueness of the extra 21st chromosome that people with Down syndrome have. A simple but powerful way to start conversations and promote understanding.
Tony’s Dream Holiday
At Cocklebury Farmhouse Homes, supporting people to live fulfilling lives means helping them turn their ambitions into reality. For Tony, one of those ambitions has always been to travel somewhere hot for a holiday.
Rather than seeing this as just a wish, our Assistant Manager at Malmesbury Road saw it as an opportunity to help Tony set meaningful goals and begin planning for the future.
